What Is ABA Therapy and How Can My Child Access It?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based approach grounded in the science of learning and behavior. ABA uses individualized strategies to help children develop meaningful skills that can support communication, social interaction, learning, daily living, and greater independence.

At Blume, we recognize that every child is different. ABA services are individualized around each child’s strengths, needs, goals, and everyday environment. Progress is monitored through ongoing data collection, allowing the clinical team to evaluate progress and adjust treatment as needed.

How Can Your Child Access This Service?

Every family’s path to ABA services may look different. At Blume, we make the process clear and help families understand the options available for beginning services.

DOE-Funded ABA Services:

When ABA therapy is authorized through a DOE impartial hearing decision, a settlement agreement, a pendency agreement, or other applicable authorization, Blume may provide the service if it meets the applicable admission requirements, licensing, and clinical scope.

Whether the service is fully funded, partially funded, or involves a cost to the family depends on the specific authorization. Blume does not determine DOE eligibility and cannot guarantee payment or coverage.

Our team coordinates with families, and with their legal representatives when applicable, to manage the required documentation and facilitate the transition from authorization to clinical care.

Private-Pay ABA Services

Families may access Blume’s ABA services directly through private payment. Our team will guide you through the intake process, discuss your child’s needs, and provide information about available services and fees before care begins.

Not Sure Where to Start?

Our team can help you understand Blume’s service and intake options and provide educational guidance and resources along the way. When legal advice or representation is needed, we can connect families with qualified legal professionals.

Every Child Progresses
at Their Own Pace

Every child is different, and so is their path through ABA. At Blume, services are individualized from the beginning and continuously informed by your child’s progress, needs, and goals.

An Initial ABA Assessment

When clinically appropriate and consistent with applicable authorization and professional requirements, we begin with an ABA assessment focused on your child’s strengths, needs, skills, and everyday environment. The assessment informs individualized behavioral treatment recommendations and goals within the scope of ABA practice.
